Sage, Rob Atkins Extend Title Reigns at When Legends Rise April 13 in Nutley

The Live Event for Greater Nutley Cancer Foundation successfully raised $4,600


NUTLEY, NJ – At the When Legends Rise Live Event on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Parks & Rec Center, IWF Heavyweight Champion Dark Oracle Sage and American Champion Robert Atkins stood victorious as IWF Wrestling made its return to Nutley, New Jersey.


Fans, wrestlers, staff, and sponsors came together at the yearly spectacle, raising $4,600 for Greater Nutley Cancer Foundation and an additional $100 for Michael Robert Cammett Jr. Memorial Foundation. Ocean Beach Sales and Rentals was the main sponsor of the event.


The Triple Main Event featured Heavyweight Champion Dark Oracle Sage, accompanied by former champion Hellraiser Dracko, successfully defending his title against All-American Brian Atkins, who was managed by East Side Dave McDonald. This win extends Sage's two-year reign as champion, which began in April 2022.


American Champion All-American Robert Atkins, alongside East Side Dave McDonald, successfully defended his title against former champion Supersonic KC Bonilla. This win prolongs Atkins' title reign to five months, which commenced in November 2023. Earlier in the evening, Bonilla secured his title challenge by defeating Janko Sons in a match to determine the number one contender.


IWF Tag Team Champion Master of Chaos Kevin Knight emerged victorious over his longtime rival First-Class Justin Adams, accompanied by East Side Dave McDonald. This win concludes their best-of-seven series with Knight leading at 3-2-2.


In a tag team attraction, The Juggernaut Aaron Hobbs and Patrick Sanchez emerged victorious over Mr. Intensity Glenn Burgess and Silver Tongue Rico Gold. All-Star Michele Dee served as Special Guest Referee.


In another tag team encounter, American Bulldog Ken Reedy and Shane Snyder defeated Prince Naj and Ezon Leverett.


Legendary Ring Announcer Gary Michael Cappetta was recognized for his 50th Year in Professional Wrestling as the voice of WWE, WCW and AWA.  Cappetta served as special guest ring announcer of the evening's main event contests.​


When Legends Rise was presented by IWF Media LLC.  Supporters included Nutley Parks and Recreation Department, Township Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci, Ocean Beach Sales and Rentals, TAPinto Nutley, Rocky's Pizzeria, Nutley Chamber of Commerce, PATCH News, WRAT 95.9 FM, and RPM Auto Spa.


Since 2012, IWF has raised a total of $51,984.82 for cancer charities in the Nutley area, and since 2021, raised $11,858.33 for Michael Robert Cammett Jr. Memorial Foundation.


Founded in 1998, the award-winning IWF Wrestling has hosted 721 family-friendly live events and fundraisers, featuring WWE Hall of Famers and Legends, across 47 cities in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.
