NUTLEY, NJ - A sold-out crowd witnessed an action-packed entertainment experience on Saturday, April 23, 2022, as IWF celebrated its 25th Anniversary with a Live Event at Parks & Rec Center, Nutley NJ, with $4,545.98 raised for American Cancer Society Relay For Life.
Among the featured attractions, fan-favorite Dark Oracle Sage won a 15-Person Over-The-Top-Rope RUMBLE to win the vacant IWF Heavyweight Title. Participants included Brian Atkins, Robert Atkins, Cyborg Rick Recon, Supersonic KC Bonilla, Jayden Stehle (with Vin Digi), Justin Bongiovi, Benjamin T. Asher, Glenn Burgess, Zay Spaulding, American Bulldog Ken Reedy, All-Star Michele Dee (with Eloy Fiesta), Ezon Leverett, and Dungeon Kid.
Popular WWE Hall of Famer Mr. USA Tony Atlas (with manager Eloy Fiesta) defeated East Side Dave (with bodyguard Vin Digi) in a Bodybuilding Posedown. Ken Reedy served as Host for the contest.
IWF Tag Team Champion Master of Chaos Kevin Knight (with New Jersey Broadcasters Association Hall of Famer Bert Baron) defeated Robert Atkins (with Brian Atkins). The originally scheduled tag team bout turned into a singles match due to injury to Knight’s partner, Mr. Showmanship Rik Ratchet.
In a stunning upset, Supersonic KC Bonilla defeated former WWE Superstar Nunzio. In a show of sportsmanship, Nunzio - a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion - shook the hand of Bonilla after the bout to the delight of the capacity crowd.
Cyborg Rick Recon defeated Brian Atkins to regain the IWF American Title. Atkins was defending the title on behalf of the injured Andd Bivians. Bivians originally won the title from Recon on November 20, 2021 in North Arlington, NJ.
In tag team action, Justin Bongiovi and Benjamin T. Asher united to defeat Mad King Glenn Burgess and Zay Spaulding.
Earlier in the evening, Dark Oracle Sage defeated Jayden Stehle in singles competition.
The funds were donated to American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Nutley in the name of IWF Hall of Famer Golden Boy Michael Cammett, who passed away in 2021.
The event was presented by IWF Media LLC. Supporters included Township of Nutley Parks & Recreation Department, Mayor Mauro G. Tucci, TAPinto Nutley, Ocean Beach Sales and Rentals of Lavallette, Marketing Muscle of Nutley, Enforcer Fitness of Nutley, Iron Revolution Gym of Howell, and Orgain Clean Nutrition.
Fans showed their generosity by bringing needed items for the Noble Strength Animal Shelter Collection with food and supplies donated to Bloomfield & Montclair Animal Shelters.
Each spring, IWF’s Anniversary Event supports a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with American Cancer Society the beneficiary since 2012. The 24th Anniversary Event in 2021 raised $6,366.35 for American Cancer Society, plus $586.91 for Hayden's Heart INC, and $586.91 for Special Olympics New Jersey.
Kickoff of IWF silver anniversary celebration November 20, 2021, in North Arlington raised $4,006.78 for Michael Robert Cammett Jr. Memorial Foundation that provides scholarships for North Arlington High School students.
Established in 1998, award-winning IWF Wrestling produced 716 family-friendly Live Events and Fundraisers with WWE Hall of Famers and Legends in 47 cities throughout New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut benefiting countless non-profit organizations, civic associations, community service groups, high school athletic programs, recreation programs, and academic scholarship funds.
